My best moment while playing on PokerStars...

My best moment while playing on PokerStars was probably making it to a final table of the $100K privilege/depositor freerolls. These games happen about 3-4 times a day and you can do a couple a rebuys if you bust out, but I don't since then it wouldn't be a freeroll anymore. :) I had been playing these games for a while now and usually I would go out very early or every so often make a tiny min cash for a couple of pennies.  Obviously there are quite a high number of entrants, sometimes up to 25k people and since it's a freeroll, the gameplay is kind of loose.  Okay really loose, as in multiple people have no problem shoving with any two cards, such as pocket king four or even 6 high.  Normally this sounds like a good thing, but most of the time it isn't because everyone is doing it and it's hard for a good hand to hold, even aces.

I made the final table of the 100K a couple of months ago and I know making a final table of a freeroll, isn't that big a deal, but this one had almost 20k people in it, so it felt pretty good to outlast almost everyone and it's the farthest I've been before. I had kind of given up hope that I would make any real money in these games, but somehow I managed to finish 4th place for about $120.  For a while, I thought I was actually going to win this one, since I had a huge chip lead with about 15 people left. I have no idea how I got that many chips, since for most of the game I had a below average chip stack. However a few bad beats and a few bad plays by me, trying to bully people around with my chip stack, sealed my place. The hand I went out on was set over turned set.  I had pocket 10's and just called a small raise by my opponent, who I think was the chip leader,  since I didn't really want to play the hand because I was in third place and 4th place had only a couple of chips left, so I was willing to fold hoping the short stack would go out soon.  A ten came on the flop and with no possible draws, it made me think I was a lock to win this hand.  I didn't want to let my opponent get lucky and hit runner runner or something so I decided to go all in.  To my shock my opponent called and showed pocket queens, then a queen came on the turn. That did hurt a bit. Actually it hurt a lot.

I can't complain too much, since I had nothing to lose since my buy-in was zero :)  I also had a couple of poker friends railing me and rooting me on, which was really nice.  Now I haven't come anywhere close to repeating that success that I had, but I keep trying. It always feels good have a nice win every so often.

Superbowl 5k freeroll

Would have been nice to win this one.  1st place was $1300.  Only managed to get 30th place for $37.5 on Carbon.  Tried playing some $5 SnGs/tourneys and managed to lose most of my roll.  Have to regroup and figure out what to do with my last $8
